This is the "DYING" or SUPER-NOVA phase of a large older star in a far distant galaxy, about 12 million light years from our sun.  It has since imploded into a DARK HOLE, since this photo was taken because of the time for this picture to reach earth.  Astrologists theorize that our sun will similarly "IMPLODE" into a SUPER-NOVA and become a DARK HOLE in about 4 1/2 billion years from now.
